THE SERVICE MODEL

One publishing house. A scope built around your manuscript.

Publishing projects do not all arrive in the same condition. A finished manuscript may need only design and production. Another may require developmental work before a single page is laid out. A previously published title may need a new edition, a stronger cover, eBook preparation or a better route to readers.

For that reason, Envision Nathanael does not assume that every author should buy the same package. We scope the work according to the manuscript, the intended edition, the release plan and the services the author actually requires.

01 · EDITORIAL

Strengthen the manuscript.

Editorial care brings clarity, structure and consistency while respecting the author's legitimate voice.

Language

Editing & proofreading

Grammar, spelling, sentence clarity, consistency, readability and final-text refinement according to the level of editing required.

Structure

Manuscript development

Guidance where chapter order, argument, pacing, repetition, flow or overall organisation still needs substantial shaping.

Readiness

Editorial preparation

Consistency checks and preparation of the approved manuscript before layout, typesetting and production begin.

Direction

Author guidance

Practical editorial direction for authors who know there is a book but are still determining what the manuscript needs next.

02 · BOOK DESIGN

Give the book a visual language.

The visual form should make the work feel intentional, readable and credible before the reader reaches the first chapter.

Identity

Cover design

Front, spine and back-cover design developed for the intended print or digital edition and prepared to the required technical specifications.

Interior

Layout & typesetting

Page architecture, chapter hierarchy, typography, margins, running elements and interior presentation built around readability.

Production

Print-ready preparation

Final files prepared to the dimensions, bleed, resolution and production requirements of the selected print route.

Release

Promotional design

Selected launch, unveiling, social media and promotional assets can be scoped as additional work around the release.

03 · PRODUCTION

Prepare the edition for release.

Production turns the approved manuscript and design into usable print and digital editions.

Identifiers

ISBN & barcode support

Support with the identifiers and barcode assets required for eligible print and digital editions.

Digital

eBook production

Preparation of supported digital editions for Nathanael and appropriate external distribution pathways.

Print

Printing coordination

Print quantities, specifications, production communication and practical coordination around the approved print run.

Checks

Production quality preparation

Final review of supplied production files before release to print or digital publication, within the agreed project scope.

04 · PUBLISHING & DISTRIBUTION

Carry the finished book toward readers.

Publishing continues after the files are complete. The finished work needs a practical route into discovery, purchase and fulfilment.

Nathanael

Store listing

Eligible books can be prepared for listing and sale through the Nathanael platform according to the applicable publishing arrangement.

Digital

Distribution support

Support for appropriate digital distribution routes based on the edition, author goals and publishing package.

Commerce

Order & fulfilment pathways

Customer sales, payment and delivery pathways can be structured according to the applicable Nathanael author agreement.

Launch

Release support

Store readiness, selected launch assets and release coordination can be added where the project requires them.

05 · AUTHOR MARKETING

Help the right readers discover the work.

Marketing should serve the book, the author and the intended reader rather than creating noise without direction.

Positioning

Book presentation & sales copy

Support for book descriptions, author presentation and reader-facing language used on product pages and selected campaign material.

Assets

Launch graphics

Selected visual materials for unveiling, pre-orders, release announcements and other agreed launch moments.

Planning

Release pathway

Practical coordination around how the title moves from production into store readiness, launch communication and ongoing availability.

Reach

Reader-reach support

Selected support for helping the author communicate the book clearly through appropriate Nathanael and author-led channels.

06 · BOOK LISTING & DISTRIBUTION

Already published? Put the book on the shelf.

This pathway is for authors whose books are already complete and who do not require editing, cover design or production. Nathanael can assess an eligible title for store listing and the appropriate sales, distribution or fulfilment pathway.

Storefront

Nathanael shelf listing

Creation of the public listing with title, author, description, cover, edition, format, price and availability information.

Onboarding

Catalogue readiness

Review of the finished title, publication details, ISBN where applicable, metadata, supplied files and commercial readiness before the book goes live.

Print

Stock & fulfilment pathway

For physical books, we establish how saleable stock will be supplied or replenished and how customer orders will move into fulfilment.

Digital

eBook listing pathway

Where an eligible digital edition is supplied, the eBook can be assessed for Nathanael listing under the applicable author agreement.

Sales

Sales administration

Orders, customer payments and author sales records can be handled through Nathanael according to the agreed listing terms.

Reach

Distribution support

Selected distribution and reader-reach options may be added where appropriate. Shelf listing does not automatically mean placement in every external channel.

07 · AUTHOR OPTIONS

Use only what you need.

The quotation should reflect the actual work rather than forcing every author into the same package.

Focused

Service-by-service

Request individual services such as editing, cover design, layout, eBook production, printing or selected marketing support.

Coordinated

Full publishing journey

Coordinate editorial, design, production, publishing and release through one managed project pathway.

Shelf only

Already-published books

If the book is already complete, choose Book Listing & Distribution without buying editing, design or production you do not need.

Unsure

Let us help you scope it

If you are not sure what the manuscript needs, begin with a publishing enquiry rather than guessing at services.

HOW WE SCOPE THE WORK

A quotation should follow understanding.

Before a project is priced properly, we need enough information to understand the size of the manuscript, its present condition and the edition you are trying to produce.

01 · MANUSCRIPT

What exists now?

Word count, manuscript stage, editing history, images, tables and structural complexity affect the work required.

02 · EDITION

What are we producing?

Book size, print quantity, eBook needs, colour requirements and finishing choices shape production.

03 · RELEASE

Where must the book go?

Store listing, distribution, launch material and fulfilment expectations determine the wider publishing scope.

YOUR NEXT STEP

Conversation first. Quotation when the project is ready to be scoped.

If you are still working out what you need, start a publishing enquiry. If you already know the manuscript size, likely services and production requirements, request a formal quotation.
